Made compass in class and did magnetism packet. Watched video on how electromagnets are used at theme parks.

Today students took the chapter 1 test. Then I presented the three elements off the periodic table of elements. Iron = Fe, Nickel = Ni, and Cobalt = Co. I also showed that some items are magnetic and others are not.

Assignments: Do Chapter Review p 22-23 and study for test on Thursday. Yes, you may use your Science Notebook for the Chapter 1 Test. We went over three handouts in class today and added them to the Science Notebook. Remember to glue the pages into your Notebooks. Come to class with some ideas about Earth Science Projects you would like to work on.
